Astaxanthin Micro Algae Facility

Australia, QLD
Lycopodium was engaged by MBD Energy to assist in the development of the first commercial-scale Astaxanthin Micro Algae production facility to be built in Australia.

Lycopodium provided a Preliminary Site Requirements report followed by a Technology Scoping Study report in preparation for the detailed design phase of the project.

MBD together with their partners at James Cook University (JCU) have developed the process conditions and functional requirements for the facility.

MBD then engaged Lycopodium to prepare a Class 3 (-10/-20% to +10/+30%) capital cost estimate (CCE) and Project Implementation Plan for the construction of the facility as the first phase in the realization of the project.

The works included development of a detailed site layout including roads, growth and stressing raceways, preliminary architectural design of buildings and offices, assessment of site utility requirements, and environmental management.
