Bissett Creek Project

Americas, Canada
Northern Graphite’s Bissett Creek project is located between the cities of Ottawa and North Bay, Ontario, Canada. The project was re-activated in 2018 due to higher prices and renewed interest in graphite projects.

Phase 1 of the development consists of an open pit mine and a 3,000 tpd processing plant with conventional crushing, grinding and flotation circuits.

Lycopodium provided Feasibility Study (FS) engineering services for the processing facility.  This included developing flowsheets at Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) level to support the establishment of capital and operating expenses for the processing facilities.

The scope included reviewing the previous work and development of an optimized flowsheet and then updating the previous FS based on this.

Project features:

The project is five hours from the port of Montreal and one days’ transport to major markets in the northern United States.

The processing plant includes a sulphide flotation circuit to remove enough sulphide to make approximately 97% of the tailings benign.
