Between January 2008 and May 2009, Lycopodium provided process engineering services to KBR during the Preliminary Engineering Study (PES) and Definitive Engineering Study (DES) for the $400M+ project. Lycopodium key rail personnel were also involved in the design of the rail line from feasibility, scoping and definition design to a level of detail sufficient to provide a +/- 15% cost estimate for the project.
Expertise exhibited during the project includes:
- Scoping out and feasibility assessment
- Engineering Design – track, earthworks, culverts and roadworks
- Project management – bridges, signalling and communications systems, geotechnical investigation
- Client and third-party stakeholder engagement
Multiple alternate alignment options developed to avoid third party tenure during a period of attempted financial takeover of the Client.
