Natougou Gold Project

Africa, Burkina Faso
Lycopodium was responsible for the process plant and associated plant infrastructure at the Natougou gold mine in Burkina Faso. The overall scope of work included the provision of EPCM and commissioning services for the development of the project.

The processing plant comprises a conventional crushing and grinding circuit. The ore is mined from an open-pit mine requiring significant onsite infrastructure including power plant, camps, mine services and mine support buildings.

The project was based on processing 4,000tpd of ore through a conventional leach-CIP gold plant at an average grade of 4.1 g/t Au.

Other improvements include:
• Optimised and energy-efficient comminution circuit (primary crusher, SAG, vertimill)
• Leach-CIP (carousel) circuit and to minimise gold lock-up
• Split AARL elution (greater flexibility can increase strips/week)
• Optimised layout

The initial DFS was completed in February 2016 with EPCM contract awarded in April 2016. First gold pour June 2018.
