Port Botany Rail Upgrade

Investigations on the condition of the Port Botany Rail Line were conducted by Lycopodium’s transport engineering consultants who then identified and delivered detailed designs for asset upgrade.

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) developed a staged upgrading program for the Port Botany Rail (PBRL). The aim of this project was to improve access and connectivity between the port and future Moorebank Intermodal Terminal.

Investigations on the condition of the PBRL were conducted by Lycopodium’s transport engineering consultants who then identified and delivered detailed designs for asset upgrade.

Lycopodium was engaged to provide project delivery services during the PBRL upgrade. This included design services for the 32km of brownfield track, plus civil and structural upgrades.

Expert knowledge in asset condition assessment, detailed design and asset performance was provided by Lycopodium’s engineering specialists. This ensured that cost-effective design solutions were delivered to the client.

Lycopodium delivered a practical brownfield design with the aim of improving reliability, access and connectivity between the port and future intermodal terminal.
