What we do

Feasibility Studies and Advisory Services:
Move forward with clarity
and confidence

Feasibility studies and our associated advisory services are the heart of our business, where we throw big-picture ideas around in concept development and preliminary economic analysis. It’s where we solve problems, refine and reduce options during pre-feasibility and, ultimately, deliver certainty through robust feasibility studies.

Feasibility Studies

What we do

Our feasibility studies and advisory services cover the full value cycle of assets, from concept or project scoping, to bankable studies used to support finance applications, to master planning, to de-bottlenecking, compliance and due diligence reviews.

  • Preliminary economic analysis
  • Scoping and conceptual studies
  • Preliminary feasibility or pre-feasibility studies
  • Definitive and bankable feasibility studies
  • National Instrument (NI 43-101) reports
  • Engineering cost studies and project scoping reports
  • Conceptual engineering and preliminary design
  • Facility master planning and design
  • Due diligence studies and hazardous area compliance

We also provide a host of other studies and technical reports, including independent third party or due diligence audits and reports.

With subject matter experts available at every stage of project conceptualisation, planning and development – experts with a deep knowledge of local legislative and regulatory standards – we’re able to actively add value at every stage.

This means greater clarity and better decision-making. It means less trouble securing finance and more certainty around key issues, such as compliance. And it means a smoother path from concept to completion to ongoing asset management and performance improvement.

Where we apply our feasibility expertise

Our group has been involved in the preparation of over 600 studies in a wide range of global jurisdictions for clients in the resources, industrial process and infrastructure sectors.

Wherever we’re working with our clients, and whatever the challenge, we work as partners, delivering as much or as little feasibility support as required.

We can either deliver specific sections of your feasibility study or report – for instance, focusing purely on process and engineering – or, we can project manage the delivery of your entire feasibility, design and engineering study process, including subsequent reviews and due diligence audits and reporting.

How we manage feasibility studies

As is the case with everything we do at Lycopodium, we’ll tailor our feasibility and advisory expertise to suit you and your project, but we generally assign a lead consultant, ensuring you have a dedicated point of contact and a smooth, positive experience throughout the consulting process.

Your lead will manage our hand-picked team of subject matter experts who will look at your project holistically. Together, we’ll review and optimise plans, identifying potential obstacles and providing solutions to specific design, production, budgetary and compliance challenges.

Resources

Maximising value, one feasibility project at a time

Every minerals project is unique, so we believe the key to maximising value is designing and developing a project on a fit-for-purpose basis, where your specific needs are captured fully in your feasibility studies.

We’ve applied this philosophy globally, delivering studies in mineral processing, process and non-process infrastructure to international clients across a wide range of commodities, including gold, copper, cobalt, lithium, nickel, diamonds, iron ore, zinc, lead, manganese, uranium, tin, tantalum, rare earth minerals and platinum group metals.

Industrial Processes

Streamlining the path from complexity to commercial success

Working with clients across the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, manufacturing, food and beverage, and chemical and energy sectors, we’re regularly called on to develop or review potential projects, optimise plans and provide solutions to specific design or production challenges. Often, this means focusing on the finer details of complex and hazardous chemistry. High temperature, high pressure, noxious – we handle the really hard stuff.

Our subject matter experts relish this complexity and diversity, providing the technical skills and objectivity clients need to turn their concepts and IP into commercially viable and successful operations and plants, minimising risk and maximising Return On Investment at every stage.

Infrastructure

Independent feasibility studies and advice

We partner with rail, road, water and utility infrastructure clients in both the public and private sectors, undertaking feasibility and design studies, either to improve the operational efficiency of existing services or facilities, or to develop costs and lifecycle benefits for new-build infrastructure.

While this means we work on a diverse range of projects, our goal is always the same: to minimise recurrent costs and capital costs by delivering practical solutions that meet the most stringent regulatory standards. Beyond that, we have no fixed methodology or preferred solution, so it’s a goal we focus on without fear or favour, with complete objectivity.
